What is WiFi6?

The 6th generation of WIFI, WiFi6 allows for more speed, improved security and greater stability. It is suitable for business WiFi solutions and home offices alike.

Also known as 802.11ax, WiFi6 comes as a result of the vastly increased use of the internet and our reliance on it for both business and pleasure.

  • WiFi6 brings
  • Greater speeds
  • More stability
  • Improved security
  • Reduced power consumption
  • Ability to connect to more devices simultaneously without the loss of speed

Does WiFi6 make a difference?

The new WiFi6 is a substantial upgrade to its predecessors. You’ll definitely notice the faster speeds and improved stability, but it won’t necessarily change the way you use a router or network. The upgrade is a combination of many smaller, incremental improvements that add up to provide a far superior experience.

Better speeds and stability.

With WiFi6, you’ll get increased bandwidth and with this comes faster upload and download speeds. This meets the demand for being able to share larger files, stream high-quality video and conduct online meetings, all requiring large amounts of bandwidth and a reliable, stable connection. We all now connect more devices to our WIFI than ever before, this latest generation will enable this without compromising on performance and speeds.  We recommend all Office WiFi networks should now be using this inconjunction with a superfast business broadband connection.

WiFi6 improves security on your business WiFi installation

The major improvement to security you get with WiF6 is increased password security. This upgrade uses the Dragon Key Exchange system, which is also referred to as Simultaneous Authentication of Equals (SAE). Using sophisticated technology, this authentication method makes it much harder to crack passwords and therefore provides an added layer of security. You also get stronger encryption.

This improves drastically, the current standard of WPA2, the security protocol for WIFI networks that requires a password in order to connect. It means that WiFi6 offers improved security without any negative impact on the user.

What is WiFi6? – well it represents a significant change in the way we use wireless technology. Is it time you upgraded?
